Basic REB%

Rebound %

The percentage of available rebounds a player or team grabs while they are on the floor — split into offensive (ORB%) and defensive (DRB%).

Raw rebound totals favour players with big minutes and teams with slow pace. A centre who plays 32 minutes will grab more rebounds than one who plays 22, even if the latter is the better rebounder. Rebound % asks: of all the rebounds that were available while you were on the floor, what share did you claim? It makes a fair comparison across different roles, minutes, and pace of play.

Offensive Rebound %

  • League average: ~22%
  • Good: above 23%
  • Elite: above 25%

Defensive Rebound %

  • League average: ~68%
  • Good: above 70%
  • Elite: above 71%

In 2025–26, Paris Basketball led in offensive rebounds with 13.4 per game, followed closely by Crvena Zvezda at 13.3 and Valencia Basket at 13.0. On the defensive glass, Real Madrid dominated with 25.8 defensive rebounds per game, with Olympiacos at 25.3 and Valencia Basket at 24.8.

Crvena Zvezda's league-leading 38.0 total rebounds per game in 2025–26 — anchored by 13.3 offensive boards — continued their identity as EuroLeague's most relentless team on the glass. They grabbed nearly every fourth available offensive rebound, generating consistent second-chance opportunities that helped them to a 21–18 record despite lacking elite efficiency numbers. Meanwhile, Real Madrid's 25.8 defensive rebounds per game reflected their commitment to ending opponent possessions definitively — with Walter Tavares contributing 2.5 offensive rebounds and 4.1 defensive rebounds nightly, the 7-footer remained the competition's most impactful individual rebounder.

Defensive rebounds are mostly about positioning, not athleticism

In EuroLeague, most missed shots are secured by the defense — DRB% above 70% is normal. The difference between a 68% and a 76% team often comes down to box-out discipline and system, not jumping ability. High DRB% is often a coaching achievement as much as a talent one.

Offensive rebounds are a trade-off with transition defense

Sending players to the offensive glass means fewer players getting back on defense. A team with elite ORB% might be making a deliberate tactical choice to sacrifice transition defense for second chances. The number tells you how well they crash the boards — it doesn't tell you what they're giving up for it.

REB% = (Rebounds × Team Minutes) / (Player Minutes × (Team Rebounds + Opponent Rebounds)) × 100

REB%: Rebound Percentage / ORB: Offensive Rebounds / DRB: Defensive Rebounds
