Giuseppe Poeta

Peppe Poeta is one of the youngest coaches in the league. He played point guard for Italy, then moved straight into coaching when he retired in 2022.

He earned praise as an assistant under Ettore Messina at Milan, then took Brescia to a 22-8 season and an Italian final. In 2026 Milan handed him the enormous job of replacing Messina.

His point-guard background matters. He is communicative, competitive and close to the game rather than authoritarian, and having just been a player himself, he reads a locker room naturally.

The step from Brescia to Milan is a big psychological one. He now has to hold authority over experienced EuroLeague players, not just be the promising young coach.
