Oded Kattash

Oded Kattash was a gifted Israeli point guard who won the 2000 EuroLeague as a player, before injuries cut his career short.

He has coached since 2004, at Hapoel Jerusalem, Panathinaikos and others, and built Maccabi Tel Aviv into one of the league's most explosive attacks. Returning to Maccabi put him at the club he is bound to.

Calmer than most of the league's benches. He values communication, reading the game, and trusting experienced players to solve it on the floor.

The Maccabi job is personal for him. He knows the club's culture and the size of the expectations that come with it.

Guard-driven, fast, creative pick-and-roll basketball. He gives skilled perimeter players room to create inside team concepts.

His defense tries to be aggressive without losing the ability to recover into shape. The balance he is chasing at Maccabi is exciting basketball that is still disciplined enough to beat the very best.
